Brain Tumors Research Center

The Brain Tumors Research Center (CITC) of the João Lobo Antunes Institute of Molecular Medicine (iMM) has the mission of studying brain tumors, with a particular focus on pediatric brain tumors. The project aims to identify the mechanisms responsible for the appearance and development of brain tumors and to develop new treatments suitable for each patient. For this, we use sophisticated molecular biology techniques to analyze the biological material of patients and identify new therapeutic targets that, after being tested in the laboratory, can be used in clinical trials on patients.

The CITC is part of the Academic Medical Center of Lisbon (CAML) and results from a collective effort that includes health professionals from the Hospital de Santa Maria (CHLN), in particular from the Neurosurgery Service, and scientists from the João Lobo Institute of Molecular Medicine Antunes. We work together to contribute to the advancement of knowledge in the area of brain tumors and to improve the treatment and quality of life of patients.

The support received will be used to purchase research equipment at the João Lobo Antunes Institute of Molecular Medicine.

We are a family owned and operated business.
